Planning: Filming Locations
Filming location is very important as it's an aspect that sets the scene (mis-en-scene). It creates an atmosphere in the scene that links to what the character is doing and saying. As well as creating atmosphere filming locations also enhance that atmosphere that the character is trying to portray. For example in a war scene; an open field with a huge amount of space would increase the atmosphere of battle as there is enough space to film many from each teams try to kill and destroy each other.
However in our thriller film we have chosen to use common locations that would make the film be more relatable; and seem as if the situation that the character is facing can be seen in reality to anyone around you according to where they are.
In one of our filming locations for our thriller film we will shoot a scene inside the bus. Our production team chose this particular location because we want the audience to feel what that character is feeling as know matter where she is; her pain is still there. Porsha is in the bus staring at an old family picture of her family at a time when they were all happy. Her being inside the bus portrays that the pain of what her family could have been is so deep; that she would even express it in a public place. She's in a bus yet she doesn't acknowledge her surrounding as she thinks of the past; hoping that her pain of yesterday won't affect her tomorrow. She's on her way to a foster home where she hopes to find happiness within a family and the bus represents that; as its the transportation to her new life. So in conclusion her inside the bus creates a new beginning atmosphere; however its also a place where she remembers the pains of her past and want to endure that pain for one last time before the bus reaches to her destination of happiness.
