Planning:Reaching out to target audience

Planning: Reaching out to target audience

Us as a production team decided to take a survey to know the different opinions and views of variety of people. As you can see below we have posted our survey on twitter which had eight questions that were related to what people loved in terms of favourite music, locations, and where they like to shop for clothing. In are survey we also asked questions that were film related like favourite kind of thriller and leading roles in films. In addition to that we also asked their options on drastic actions such as abuse and violence. Generally this survey was successful as we had various types of answers and we have the opportunity to give the public what they prefer to see in films.

We didn't want our film to be biased but to accommodate the different aspects of views in terms of what people like. So we want use the results of the survey to put into our thriller film to persuade more people to watch are film at attract more of our target audience. From our results we have concluded that most people enjoy grime music, rather just be at home on a Friday night, enjoy psychological and horror films and love to shop in H&M. Most of the people we asked said that they wouldn't mind seeing abuse in a film as long as its not being encouraged; as a leading role most people didn't mind which gender as it depends on the film and finally most people love violence in a film.

According to this result we will make sure that we interpret them into our thriller film and future films to come. So because we want to please our target audience we will make sure that our film is based on what they said. For example most of the public said that they enjoy grime music so we will make sure that grime music can either be a diegetic sound or non-diegetic sound. As a production team we listen to the target audience as we want our films to be entertaining and be enjoyable.

Planning:Opening scene

Our film is a Psychological Thriller
Porcha's mum is physically abused by Porcha's father which eventually leads to the death of Porcha's Mother. Porcha now has to be moved to her new foster care home. She is in the car which will lead her to her new foster parents' house. She picks up a photo that is hidden in her pocket which shows a photo of her mum, herself and her dad. Flash backs and memories begin to flood her head of all the wonderful times she had with her real family and how happy they used to be but the memories quickly turn sinister as she remembers how her dad used to physically abuse her mum and herself, painful flashbacks begin to play in her head. She quickly forgets them as she nears her stop in front of her new foster house and gets down. She stands there for a few minutes observing the new house she will be living in hoping her new life will be better than the old one. As she stands in front of the door she has another flash back remembering both the happy and sad times she had with her real family and becomes sad that her life had become so miserable. In rage she rips up the photo of herself and her dad and throws it away hoping to leave her old life behind her. Porcha is then welcomed into the house by her new foster mother and two new foster sisters. Her foster mother tells her daughters to help Porcha unpack her bags in her new room and give Porcha a tour around the house, the sisters lead Porcha up the stairs and into Porcha's new room and when their mother is out of site they start threatening and taunting Porcha. One of the sisters pulls a knife to Porcha's face and threatens her once they are done taunting Porcha they push her to the floor and run back down the stairs. Porcha feels neglected and helpless with no one to run too for help as she will now have to go through hell again.

Planning: Crime Thrillers

Crime: This subgenre focuses on crime, and is usually from the criminal’s point of view. Physical action and eluding the police take the place of gathering evidence and trying to discover the criminal. In crime we usually rooting for the bad guy. An example is swelter.
